Besides the hardscaping, a unique collection of plantings featuring native plant selections that survive in the Illinois climate was established as part of the landscaping . The plantings consist of color and perennials, ornament grasses, and evergreens with strategically deliberate locations to provide year-round appeal for the homeowners while adding habitat for wildlife native to the site. Additionally, a custom irrigation system was developed and installed to provide the owner's new plantings access to water while being water efficient. The end state from this resulted in a stunning landscape that has a wonderful relationship with the home, and features a peaceful water feature was the focal point of the garden.
