The MasterBath Expanded project in Kernersville, NC, represents a meticulous transformation of a previously cramped space into a luxurious and functional master bathroom. In 2016, the project commenced with the complete gutting of the existing bathroom, allowing for a fresh start and the opportunity to reconfigure the layout. By reclaiming three feet of space from an adjacent living area, where a built-in bookcase once stood, we were able to significantly enhance the bathroom's dimensions. This strategic expansion enabled the relocation of the drain system, creating ample room for a spacious shower and a five-foot vanity with additional storage. The focal point of the new design is the stunning walk-in shower, which features the innovative Schluter shower system. This waterproofing solution ensures durability and longevity, providing peace of mind for years to come. The shower itself is adorned with onyx porcelain tile, set vertically to accentuate the impressive eight-foot ceiling height, creating an illusion of even more space. A built-in bench and a hand-held shower spray enhance the functionality and comfort of this exquisite feature, making it a perfect retreat after a long day. The vanity area showcases a beautiful granite countertop complemented by an undermount lavatory for a sleek, modern look. Thoughtfully designed, the vanity includes two drawer units with mini towers, providing ample storage to keep the space organized and clutter-free. Custom-made upper cabinets were crafted to match the vanity's aesthetic, tying the entire design together with a cohesive and elegant finish. The outcome of the MasterBath Expanded project is a seamless blend of style and practicality, resulting in a transitional bathroom that caters to contemporary design preferences while offering an inviting and relaxing environment.
