The "Serving our Veterans, Adaptable Kitchen, Bath and Ramp with Deck" project exemplifies our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces. Located in Thornton, Colorado, this project was initiated in 2017 in collaboration with the Veterans Administration to create an inviting, functional environment tailored to the specific needs of our client. The design of the kitchen, bathroom, and backyard area was meticulously crafted to ensure accessibility and comfort. A low-contrast color palette was chosen to provide a soothing atmosphere for our client, who experiences visual impairment. This choice not only promotes tranquility but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the space, making it welcoming for both the homeowner and their visitors. The kitchen features custom cabinetry and countertops that blend style with practicality, while the bathroom is equipped with accessible fixtures that prioritize safety without compromising on elegance. In addition to the interior spaces, we constructed a ramp and deck that seamlessly integrate with the overall design, ensuring easy access to the backyard. The ramp was designed with the appropriate turn radius, accommodating wheelchair use and fostering independence. Durable yet stylish materials were selected throughout the project, ensuring longevity and ease of maintenance while adhering to the budgetary constraints set forth by the VA.
