About This Project

The Canmoor Kitchen project was a transformative endeavor aimed at creating a functional and inviting space for a family that cherishes communal gatherings, particularly with their 11 grandchildren. Recognizing the limitations of the original kitchen, the design team took decisive steps to enhance the flow and connectivity of the home by opening a wall and removing a closet. This strategic alteration seamlessly integrated the kitchen into the main living area, resulting in a cohesive and spacious environment conducive to family interaction. The design approach focused on a transitional style that blends modern functionality with classic elegance. Floor-to-ceiling Alabaster painted shaker-style cabinetry provides ample storage while lending an airy feel to the space. The perimeter cabinetry is complemented by lighted glass display cabinets, allowing for both practicality and a touch of sophistication. At the heart of the kitchen lies a stunning 10-foot-long island crafted from Iron Ore painted shaker cabinets with beaded inlay. This central feature not only serves as a focal point but also provides additional workspace, enhancing the kitchen's functionality. The choice of materials further elevates the kitchen’s aesthetic, with gorgeous Alabama white marble adorning the countertops. The organic beauty of the marble is accentuated by a handmade gray subway backsplash arranged in a herringbone pattern, adding texture and visual interest. A custom-built Iron-Ore-painted wood hood coordinates perfectly with the island, ensuring a harmonious design throughout. The outcome of the Canmoor Kitchen project stands as a testament to thoughtful design and meticulous craftsmanship. The new kitchen allows the homeowners to fully utilize their space, accommodating their passion for cooking and entertaining.
