Ballard-Seattle Sustainable Condo The Watershed Company is proud to introduce the Ballard-Seattle Sustainable Condo , an exceptional that combines urban living with an environmentally friendly landscape. Based in Ballard, Seattle, this was a celebration of good building and sustainability reflecting the character of the Pacific Northwest region. Our team took a worn condo outdoor area and enveloped it in green, creating an oasis that elevates the livability and ecological value of the property. Prominent features included the native plant garden with native plants providing biodiversity, food, and enjoyment for pollinators. A pathway made of permeable pavers served both to provide an attractive passageway for residents as well as create an ability for rainwater to be absorbed naturally while eliminating stormwater. One significant challenge was the small site; therefore, maximizing utility without compromising beauty required the ability to design creatively. Vertical gardens and green roofs provided additional greenery while blending seamlessly with the existing architecture. Plant material was selected specifically for drought-tolerance to help ensure low maintenance and water conservation. Overall, we achieved an exquisite landscape experience that will live in the heart of the residents while serving as an example of future sustainable urban design. The layout and amenities, such as community gardens and gathering spaces, encourages community engagement, creating an urban cohesive oasis still in 'Ballard-Seattle Safe Condo.' The Watershed Company has and will continue to take pride in providing quality work beyond expectations.
