The Transitional Kitchen Renovation in Kenmore, NY, transformed a cramped galley kitchen that had not seen updates since the early 1970s into a bright, functional space that maximizes both storage and aesthetic appeal. The project began with a complete gutting of the kitchen down to the studs, allowing for a fresh start and the incorporation of modern amenities and design elements. To enhance energy efficiency and comfort, foam insulation was added to the walls, ensuring that the kitchen remains warm during colder months. A significant highlight of the renovation is the installation of a spacious garden window, which replaced a small, outdated window. This change not only flooded the kitchen with natural light but also created an inviting view of the outdoors, making the kitchen feel more open and airy. Recessed lighting was installed throughout, further brightening the space and providing functional illumination for cooking and entertaining. Working closely with a cabinet manufacturer, a custom design was developed to optimize the available space. The installation of 42-inch high upper cabinets took full advantage of the impressive 9-foot ceiling, offering ample storage while drawing the eye upward to create a sense of grandeur. The careful selection of new cabinets, high-end appliances, and stunning granite countertops, complemented by a marble backsplash, contributed to a cohesive and sophisticated transitional style. Luxury was not overlooked, as in-floor heated tile was added as a finishing touch, providing warmth underfoot and enhancing the overall comfort of the kitchen.
