The "Mid-Century to New-Century" project in Denver, CO, is a remarkable transformation of a beloved mid-century ranch home, executed in collaboration with GO Builders. The homeowners, cherishing their residence and community, sought to enhance their living space while being mindful of their neighbors. The decision to extend the home towards the expansive backyard allowed for a seamless integration of new and existing structures, preserving the character of the front elevation while maximizing functional space. The original kitchen and dining room were thoughtfully combined into a modern kitchen, designed for both aesthetics and practicality. The rear wall of the house was removed, creating an open flow into a newly designed great room that boasts a soaring ceiling with a stunning wood-paneled inset. Large expanses of glass not only flood the space with natural light but also connect the indoors to the covered patio and lush backyard, inviting the outside in. An alcove within the dining area, lined with flagstone reminiscent of the original living room fireplace, adds a touch of warmth and continuity to the design.
