Trex Decking, Pergola, and Urbana Tumbled Pavers

The Trex Deck, Pergola, and Urbana Tumbled Pavers project in south Charlotte stands as a remarkable transformation from a chaotic and outdated backyard to a cohesive outdoor living space designed for enjoyment. Initially characterized by a dilapidated deck, a crumbling pergola, and overgrown landscaping, the area presented significant challenges that required a comprehensive overhaul. Our team began by meticulously dismantling the old structures, including the unsafe deck, large pergola, faulty wiring, and a deteriorating fire pit, while also clearing out numerous bushes and trees to create a clean slate for the new design. The centerpiece of this renovation is the new Trex deck, constructed using Trex Transcends Spiced Rum decking. This choice not only provides a stunning aesthetic with its rich color but also incorporates hidden fasteners for a sleek, seamless finish. Complementing the deck, we installed Trex Transcends railing in White, accented by stylish black aluminum balusters, enhancing both safety and elegance. The deck is thoughtfully designed to seamlessly integrate with the newly constructed large pergola, crafted from durable Pressure Treated Pine. The pergola features beautifully scrolled cuts on the beams and rafters, adding a touch of sophistication while also being wired for future enhancements, such as a ceiling fan, creating an inviting atmosphere. To elevate the functionality and appeal of the space further, we graded the yard and prepared it for the installation of approximately 460 square feet of Belgard Urbana tumbled pavers. These pavers, complemented by a matching border and a step down to the yard, not only provide a practical surface for outdoor activities but also enrich the visual landscape of the area. An added touch of Belgard stone wraps about a third of the way up the 6x6 posts of the pergola, creating a polished and cohesive look. Finally, we laid new sod around the site, completing the project with a lush, green finish that invites relaxation and outdoor enjoyment. The transformation is not just aesthetic; it represents a significant improvement in the functionality and enjoyment of the backyard, making it a perfect setting for gatherings and leisure.
