The Inset Cabinet Kitchen project in Bel Air, MD, was a transformative endeavor that redefined the heart of the Moore family’s home. The clients sought to enhance functionality and aesthetic appeal by removing a corner sink and an intrusive peninsula that had previously closed off the kitchen space. This bold decision allowed the design team to create a more open and inviting atmosphere. Maintaining the warmth of the existing hardwood floors was essential to the Moores, but the flooring did not extend beneath the peninsula cabinets. Arch Craft, LLC skillfully addressed this challenge by carefully “toothing” in new hardwood planks, seamlessly integrating them with the existing flooring, followed by a meticulous refinishing process that revitalized the entire flo. The design choices made for this kitchen reflect a perfect blend of modern functionality and classic elegance. Centering the sink beneath the window not only enhanced the view while washing dishes but also contributed to a balanced visual flow throughout the space. The introduction of an island with seating for two created a cozy gathering spot, ideal for family interactions and entertaining guests. The inset cabinets were a standout feature, providing a streamlined and sophisticated look that complemented the transitional style of the kitchen.
