About This Project

The project "A Splash of Copper" transformed a recently purchased home into a bright and inviting sanctuary, focusing primarily on the kitchen and living room areas. The original layout presented challenges, particularly with the clearance around the island, which restricted accessibility to essential appliances and disrupted the flow of movement to adjacent spaces. To address these issues, a comprehensive redesign was initiated, prioritizing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The new space plan was meticulously crafted to optimize work areas while minimizing physical and visual obstructions throughout the kitchen, wine cellar, pantry, laundry, and half bath. By reimagining the layout, the design team successfully enhanced accessibility, allowing for a more seamless interaction between the kitchen and living spaces. One of the standout features of this project was the strategic use of materials that introduced a sense of warmth and sophistication. The choice of a light neutral palette not only brightened the environment but also created a cohesive look throughout the home. To further enhance the visual continuity, the dark paneled walls in the den area were primed and painted in the same light neutral shade as the kitchen, effectively unifying the two spaces. This decision not only opened up the den but also contributed to a more expansive feel across the entire area. The incorporation of copper accents throughout the design added a touch of elegance and character, distinguishing the space while maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere. The outcome of "A Splash of Copper" is a beautifully transformed home that marries modern functionality with timeless design.
