Scandinavian Redo represents a masterful transformation of a 1974 architecturally designed residence in Siloam Springs, AR, blending the client’s Danish and Japanese heritage to create a harmonious and inviting environment. The project scope focused on two primary enhancements that fundamentally altered the home’s functionality and aesthetic. First, the kitchen was opened up to seamlessly connect with the dining, breakfast, and family areas, fostering an open-concept layout that promotes both communication and flow throughout the living space. This strategic reconfiguration invites natural light and encourages a sense of togetherness among family members and guests. In addition to the kitchen expansion, the project involved a significant reduction in the mass of the fireplace, which previously dominated the living area. This alteration not only modernized the home's appearance but also provided a more balanced visual proportion, allowing other design elements to shine. Crisp modern finishes were carefully selected to enhance the overall architecture, employing a palette that emphasizes brightness and clarity.
