Nestled in the heart of Redmond, WA, this stunning bathroom remodel breathes new life into a once-iconic Street of Dreams home. The project, aptly named "A New Twist on a Classic Look," transformed the original space into a bright and airy retreat, skillfully combining modern elegance with timeless charm. The decision to remove the heavy wall-to-wall built-in tub and the imposing wing walls surrounding the large shower was pivotal in creating an open and inviting atmosphere. Retaining the existing cabinetry and millwork, we revitalized these features with a fresh coat of paint, enhancing their classic appeal while ensuring they harmonized with the new design. To address storage needs while maintaining the aesthetic flow, we constructed a bespoke open cabinet that seamlessly integrates into the overall scheme. The addition of wainscoting on the walls introduces a sophisticated touch, marrying traditional elements with contemporary design. The bathroom’s focal point is undoubtedly the newly designed shower area. Featuring dramatic large-format patterned tiles in shades of gray and white, the intricate mandala-like design captivates the eye, drawing attention to the luxurious space. Equipped with double shower heads and custom niches, this shower not only serves a functional purpose but also offers a spa-like experience. Large, framed mirrors were installed to enhance the sense of space and light, further contributing to the room’s overall ambiance. The freestanding tub, elegantly positioned in front of the window, serves as a serene spot for relaxation, offering picturesque views while bathing. The installation of exquisite Quartzite countertops paired with undermount sinks adds a layer of sophistication and practicality. The careful selection of materials and attention to craftsmanship culminated in a bathroom that is both a personal sanctuary and an inviting space for guests, perfectly encapsulating the essence of transitional design. This remodel not only revitalizes an existing home but also demonstrates how thoughtful design choices can transform a classic look into a modern masterpiece.
