The project commenced with a meticulous assessment of the 1885 structure, ensuring that both the exterior and interior brick walls were stabilized to preserve their historical significance while preparing for modern enhancements. To achieve a robust and functional foundation, the existing floor joists were replaced with durable glue-lam beams, offering increased structural integrity. Following this foundational work, all windows were replaced with high-performance Marvin windows, which not only enhance the building’s energy efficiency but also maintain its aesthetic appeal. A striking open stairway was introduced, leading to the roof, which serves as a focal point of modern design while providing access to panoramic views of the urban landscape.
