The Outdoor Kitchen and Gazebo project was conceived to enhance the family's outdoor living experience, providing a functional and inviting space adjacent to their pool area, which was quite a distance from the main house. This project was artfully crafted with a focus on both aesthetics and functionality, employing a timber frame structure that stands as a centerpiece in the backyard. The gazebo features a clear roof, allowing natural light to flood the space while offering protection from the elements, creating an ideal environment for cooking and entertaining. The flooring is constructed from 2x6 S4S (surfaced on four sides), providing a sturdy and visually appealing base. Wrapped in flagstone, the posts add a touch of elegance and durability, seamlessly blending with the natural surroundings. The rough cedar used for the joists and rafters not only contributes to the robust construction but also enhances the rustic charm of the gazebo. Complementing the woodwork, the ceiling features tongue and groove (T&G) cedar, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. To top it off, the roofing is adorned with Western Red Cedar shingles, known for their longevity and classic appearance. The back wall is finished with stucco, adding texture and contrast to the overall design. The outdoor kitchen is fully equipped with high-end appliances, including a grill, infrared cooktop, deep fryer, dual sinks, refrigerator, and ice maker, all strategically placed for optimal functionality. The countertops, made of travertine tile, offer a sophisticated surface that is both durable and easy to maintain. Completed in 2006, this project not only met the family's desire for convenience and luxury but also transformed their outdoor space into a beautiful and practical oasis for gatherings and culinary adventures. With a total investment ranging from $50,001 to $75,000, this outdoor kitchen and gazebo exemplify quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design, making it a stunning addition to any home.
