Palm Springs, California - Teserra Outdoors In the historic desert community of Palm Springs, California, Teserra Outdoors was tasked with creating a unique place in a private residence. The desperate landscape was home to native desert plants, which were thoughtfully paired with modern elements to create a site that is beautiful while also conserving water. The site was filled with beautiful plantssucculents of vibrant colors, graceful agaves, and colorful bougainvilleawhich were combined with natural landscape materials such as dry riverwashed stone as well as decorative gravel. Utmost attention to detail was paid when building with local boulders and decorative concrete, which are both pleasing to the aesthetic yet will last many years against the Southern California elements. Working with the northern exposure on the slope side of the property presented a greater challenge because of the design features to be installed, which we compensated for with terraced planting beds that worked across the slope to allow for properly drained surfaces. Our crew was meticulous with achieving the intended terrace detail that flowed naturally across the space and blended into the surrounding landscape. The culminating effort generated a stunning outdoor space that seamlessly offers both usability and beauty, and the client was especially delighted with the new fire pit area, which serves as the perfect place to gather under the stars, all surrounded by soft lighting and fragrant desert plantings. The entire at the Palm Springs residence is a perfect representation of Teserra Outdoors' commitment to quality craftsmanship and design innovationboth important features of the outcome.
