Four Seasons Landscape: Aqualung Landscape The Aqualung Landscape , set among the idyllic, peaceful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is a symbol of excellence in landscaping artistry from Four Seasons Landscape. Our team took a difficult hillside lot and turned it into a peaceful and beautiful escape serving beautiful Cashiers, Cullowhee, Glenville, Highlands, Lake Toxaway, Sapphire, Franklin and Lake Keowee. This began with a site analysis to gain an insight into the topography and hydrology of the landscape. Our highly qualified crew tackled difficult terrain, while maintain the natural path of water minimizing erosion and usable water flow to promote eco-balance. Armed with local stone, durable hardwoods and plants that bloom (and die) with the seasons, we created an area of terraced gardens that gently flowed with the land. Running through the middle of the Aqualung is a beautiful water feature which has been crafted to emulate the soft movement of astream through the mountains. This not only creates an eye-catching feature in the garden but also provides a gentle sound of water trickling which adds to the tranquillity of the area. We then populated the area around the water feature with a mix of native plants such as ferns, wildflowers, and ornamental grasses, so that those parts of the habitat remain lively throughout all seasons while creating a home for native wildlife. We were up against heavy clay soil and so we also installed a top standard drainage system, essential for preventing root rot and reinforcing their healthy growth. By putting a lot of planning and effort into it, we turned around the landscape into a functional ecosystem that is providing function as well as aesthetics. The Aqualung Landscape is ultimately the balance of nature and design to which our clients were happily reconciled. Their outdoor living space is now a place where they can unwind and reflect, with meandering paths, seating and striking vistas.
