About This Project

Cliff Road Baths is a stunning transformation of a 1920s historic home in Birmingham, AL, where charm meets modern luxury. The original layout featured a single bathroom that served both family and guests, prompting the homeowners to seek a private retreat within their own home. Our design team embarked on a collaborative journey with the clients, whose vision included a master suite complete with a serene bathing experience. The centerpiece of this new design is a beautiful freestanding tub strategically positioned to offer breathtaking views of downtown Birmingham through elegant French doors that open onto a private deck. To enhance the functionality and aesthetics, the design incorporates a spacious shower that shares the same stunning view, complemented by a dedicated water closet for added privacy. The layout was meticulously reconfigured; the existing doorway, which previously allowed access from the hall, was closed off to create a more intimate and serene environment. Relocating the closets to the opposite side of the room allowed for the seamless integration of the French doors, which replaced a single-entry door to the deck, thus enhancing the flow of natural light and outdoor connectivity. The choice of materials reflects a blend of timeless elegance and modern sophistication. Polished nickel plumbing fixtures and accessories were selected to harmonize with the traditional character of the home while adding a contemporary touch. The craftsmanship involved in the project highlights attention to detail, ensuring that every element—from the cabinetry to the tile work—exudes quality and style.
