The Italian Rustic Makeover project, completed in 2017 in Oak Creek, WI, transformed an ordinary dining area into a stunning representation of rustic charm infused with Italian elegance. Throughout the design process, our focus was on creating a warm and inviting space that celebrates the beauty of traditional craftsmanship while offering modern functionality. The project commenced with a comprehensive assessment of the existing space, where we identified key elements that could enhance the overall aesthetic. Rich, earthy tones were chosen for the color palette, including warm terracotta and soft cream, which serve to evoke the rustic allure of Italian countryside homes. The walls were adorned with textured finishes reminiscent of aged plaster, adding depth and character. Central to the makeover was the selection of handcrafted furnishings. A large, reclaimed wood dining table became the focal point, offering ample space for family gatherings and dinner parties. Accompanying the table, a set of elegantly designed chairs with distressed leather and wrought iron accents complemented the rustic theme. Lighting fixtures were carefully selected, featuring wrought iron chandeliers that cast a warm glow over the dining area, enhancing the intimate ambiance. The craftsmanship extended to the details, with custom-built shelving showcasing artisanal pottery and decorative elements that further solidified the Italian rustic theme. Natural materials, including reclaimed wood and stone, were prioritized throughout the space, ensuring durability while maintaining an authentic look.
