About This Project

The Walk-in Pantry project, completed in 2018, transformed a modest space within a Bel Air estate into an organized and functional storage area tailored for a couple who enjoy an active social life and dining out. With a budget of $1,000 to $2,500, we focused on maximizing the utility of the pantry while ensuring it seamlessly integrated with the home's traditional kitchen aesthetic. The design choices were guided by the couple’s lifestyle, which prioritizes convenience and accessibility. We opted for food storage containers that were not only practical but also visually appealing, allowing the couple to easily access their limited pantry items. The selection of materials was meticulously considered, featuring high-quality wood shelving that provides both durability and a classic look. The craftsmanship involved in constructing the shelving ensured that every piece was tailored to the specific dimensions of the space, allowing for optimal organization without overwhelming the area. In addition to food storage, we incorporated designated sections for entertaining items, such as serving platters and glassware, which were previously cluttering the kitchen and butler’s pantry. This thoughtful arrangement not only frees up space in those more frequently used areas but also enhances the overall functionality of the kitchen. The design promotes an inviting atmosphere, encouraging the couple to showcase their entertaining essentials while maintaining a clean and tidy appearance. The outcome of this project is a walk-in pantry that serves as a harmonious extension of the couple's lifestyle, providing them with the necessary storage solutions while reflecting their taste and preferences. This space not only meets their current needs but also allows for flexibility as their lifestyle evolves. By focusing on both form and function, we created a pantry that is as elegant as it is practical, ensuring that it perfectly complements their home in Los Angeles.
