We put our focus on quality and client satisfaction in our latest in Bloomington. This week on the Pro Tips With Tommy: a suburban backyard that could use a firmer touch. We started with a consultation around the vision for the backyard retreat, which was to create a tranquil getaway for family and friends to gather and unwind. We faced a number of obstacles, such as rough ground and dense dirt. So we made the necessary cuts using some sophisticated grading techniques as well used a few spots of organic compost in the soil to provide a good living base for the new landscape. Features did include; a stunning multi-level patio we created out of gorgeous natural flagstone that flowed right into the natural grasses and trees surrounding it. Not just a sliver of green, this is a functional space, providing space for outdoor dining and entertaining as well. Add to that a customized fire pit for the patio constructed of weather-resistant materials, making it a perfect space for wedging in at night. We also brought in a variety of native plants and ornamental grasses of varying colors and textures that will flourish throughout the local climate adding layers of color and texture in all the seasons. To maintain sustainable watering and reduce maintainenance work of the client, a drip irrigation system was also integrated in the design. It was all transformed into a beautiful landscape that turned a backyard into an inviting sanctuary. Not only did the exceed the requirements of the client, but we received plenty of compliments for the workmanship and execution.
