The purpose of the was to create an outdoor living space that was intended for enjoyment beyond aesthetics and that interconnected functionality with nature. Our process began with an extensive site analysis that gave us an understanding of the context of the site characteristics and client vision. We included a variety of native plants throughout the design that support local diversification while improving sustainability. The plant material consisted of a colorful arrangement of perennials, ornamental grasses, and medium-sized shrubs that provide year-round impact and wildlife habitat. As the outdoor space began to take shape, we incorporated custom stone paths, fabricated using locally-sourced bluestone, which would provide a natural flow to the space. The stone paths served a dual purpose as they guided visitors through the garden while simultaneously managing runoff from the uneven terrain. In addition to the stone paths, our skilled craftsman constructed a load-bearing wall comprised of weathered granite, adding both support and rustic beauty to the landscape. One of the significant hurdles faced during the planning and design processes was the composition of the existing soil which created drainage issues on the site. Our staff constructed a comprehensive drainage solution consisting of French drains and bio-swales to facilitate the longevity of the landscape elements while managing runoff associated with heavy rainfall. At the conclusion of the , we created a stunning landscape that generated delight in our client with a beautiful blend of hardscape and softscape elements. A peaceful seating area with CB2 benches issued an opportunity for relaxation and enjoyment of the space. Lighting integrated into the landscape illuminated the views of the garden at night, providing charm with character.
