This particular included building sturdy yet aesthetically pleasing retaining walls that are built to deal with elevation changes as well as prevent soil erosion. The stone used is high quality, and locally sourced, while the interlocking concrete blocks were selected for their durability and natural appearance. The design needed to beautifully reflect the surrounding properties using organic colours and materials that matched the existing gardens of the clients. Because the property is on a slope, we also had to do some engineering to make sure the wall would stay effective and stable. Our team hit the ground running with onsite excavation work, drainage, and reinforcement for extremes of weather. The climate also played an important role in our decision-making process, as we chose materials that would not only survive but enhance the landscape for ages to come. The end product was this beautiful series of retaining walls that performed their purpose, but also created an attractive space to relax and entertain in. The feedback from our client was fantastic, and they shared how the new walls framed their garden, gave them more areas for planting, as well as improved the accessibility to their yard.
