The was challenging, as we wanted to blend the beauty of the desert with beautiful and functional outdoor living areas, which required an array of plants that would require little, if any, water since we are in the Coachella Valley, the highest desert climate. We selected plants that exhibit a great deal of color and texture and are drought resistant such as agave, desert willow, and bougainvillea placed efficiently in relation to each other for an eye-catching experience. We used high-end materials such as stone pathways, and textured beds to enhance not just the look but quality, and to ensure that a massive storm would not destroy the outdoor space. Along with the quality landscape materials, we also built custom seating and placed lights to help create a real gathering area that provides warmth, quality conversations, and even contemplation at night. The did have challenges, such as managing the existing topography and a sandy soil base that lacked drainage. Our staff implemented a great deal of innovative detail into the landscaping, such as permeable paving, and raised beds to help stimulate a durable design that could withstand the natural elements. In the end, we built an outdoor environment to not just beautify Trilogy La Quinta, but a sensible, sustainable, and low maintenance landscape for the community to enjoy. Our client was delighted with all of the work noting the overall improvement on community appeal and beauty, and that their community had provided their residents with the calming remedy that represents the essence of the desert.
