The Boldenow Reface project in Fort Worth, TX, exemplifies a stunning transformation that beautifully marries the charm of traditional design with modern functionality. Completed in 2018 with a budget in the range of $7,501 to $10,000, this galley kitchen reface is a testament to creativity and skilled craftsmanship. The kitchen retained its original countertops, floors, backsplash, sink, faucet, fridge, and dishwasher, showcasing a commitment to sustainability by reusing existing materials while enhancing the overall aesthetic and usability of the space. The project began with the removal of outdated elements, including old doors, drawers, crown molding, and appliances. Recognizing the need for a more cohesive style, we opted for a simple yet elegant door and drawer design, selecting the Breckenridge Door with SRDE Drawer Front in a Soft Cream Painted Finish from Showplace Renew Cabinetry. The modifications included resizing the openings for the new oven and microwave, which allowed us to install modern appliances that elevate the kitchen's functionality. The cabinetry was enhanced with new, solid wood dovetail drawer boxes and undermount full extension soft close glides, ensuring a seamless and quiet operation. To further improve the kitchen's ambiance, we upgraded to soft close hinges on all new doors, eliminating the disruptive sounds of slamming drawers and doors. The addition of taller crown molding not only increased the visual height of the cabinetry but also added a touch of elegance to the overall design. New door and drawer hardware was selected to complement the stainless-steel appliances, providing a cohesive look that ties together the old and new elements of the kitchen. The result is a transitional kitchen that radiates warmth and style, offering a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal. The Boldenow Reface stands as a shining example of how thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship can transform a space into a beautiful and practical kitchen.
