Our team had the task of making sure that the landscaping was cohesive with the newly built roof structure while providing an outdoor space that was beautiful in appearance as well as functional. The consisted of beautiful, native, drought-tolerant plants that were strategically placed to thrive in the Palmdale climate, as well as the use of permeable pavers for proper drainage of the space. Overall, the had a beautiful collection of succulents, ornamental grasses and flowering perennials that were selected not only for color and aesthetics but for the fact they are low water use plants for sustainable landscaping purposes. The use of natural stone pathways with gravel beds connected with the newly designed intimacy of the roof deck areas, while providing seamless access from one area to another while keeping the modern aesthetic. The real challenge for this was the drainage around the new roof structure. Our team was able to provide a beneficial drainage system using permeable pavers so that rainwater can filter through the pavers while also preventing erosion and water from pooling. This aspect of the was very important in keeping the integrity of the landscaping intact, preserving the aesthetics by creating a sustainable . The finished landscape is absolutely beautiful! The client was very pleased with the design incorporating both hardscaping and landscaping. The finished product not only improved the curb appeal of the residence, but it also created a gathering outdoor space to use as a retreat. When the sun goes down, the family is still able to enjoy the landscape, as we incorporated ambient lighting throughout the space.
