The Algonquin Private Residence project involved a comprehensive renovation of a classic 1960s two-story colonial home, resulting in a harmonious blend of modern aesthetics and functional living spaces. The renovation commenced with an extensive reconfiguration of the first floor, where an outdated screened porch was repurposed to enhance the overall layout. This strategic move allowed for the creation of a cozy den and a small living room near the main entrance, setting a welcoming tone for guests. Central to the renovation was the design of a new living room that features a striking double-sided fireplace, seamlessly connecting it to the expanded family room. This thoughtful design choice fosters an inviting atmosphere, ideal for family gatherings and entertaining. The rear of the house underwent significant transformation as well; an existing powder room and laundry room were removed, paving the way for a spacious, unobstructed area that enhances the flow of natural light and movement throughout the home.
