About This Project

This garden is a marriage of contemporary design with a historic nineteenth century house and property. It is a typical Old Town walled in brick garden created as a series of terraced rooms with each level providing a unique living area. The bottom level stone terrace with bowl fountain is used for casual dining as well as large gatherings. Graceful planted stairs lead up to the circle herb garden with vessel fountain. The garden then transitions to the cozy pergola seating/dining area. Plantings provide color and interest in all seasons, and enliven the view from the inside of the house as well. The garden is softly lit at night, adding to the ambiance and creating a romantic retreat for the owners and their guests.
