Landscaping Renovation of Lake Mitchell Home by Rent a Gardener LLC. This is a really amazing landscaping , completed by Rent a Gardener LLC at a beautiful lakeside home in the Cadillac, MI area on Lake Mitchell. Rent a Gardener serves all of Northern Michigan including Cadillac and Traverse City. Our goal with this was to incorporate the natural elements of the property into the overall design, while also enhancing their functionality and eco-friendliness. This outdoor space had an elaborate and detailed design which melded perfectly into the nearby landscape. We were able to utilize native plants to create a lively, low-maintenance perennial garden for the homeowner where local wildlife often visited. One key material that was utilized were local stone boulders to create a rustic feeling for the home and it was used for the retaining walls. The deck was custom made out of cedar to extend the indoor living space into the outdoor living space. Other materials were chosen which were permeable, to create better drainage for the landscaping and also for reducing runoff. We did encounter several challenges to the landscape where the home is located on a sloped lot. Our skilled team had to find unique ways to combat the slope of the terrain to keep the soil erosion at bay without taking away from the function or character of the landscaping. The solution to the sloped turf was to fabricate a series of terraced landscaped gardens to compose visual interest while also retaining the soil, using boulders to keep the terraced gardens stable. The final product was gorgeous and the homeowners were thrilled with their newly renovated landscaping. One area they really enjoyed was the newly added fire pit area, which was highlighted by the soft landscape lighting and surrounded by very lush green landscaping plants. We created space that featured a meandering path so visitors would have plenty of opportunity to walk and enjoy the beautiful nature gardens while enjoying magnificent views of the lake.
