About This Project

Sneaky Simple Sunny Side Back Yard by A&M Landscaping LLC. Introducing the 'Intimate Sunny Side Back Yard' by A&M Landscaping LLC (Located in the center of Arvada). The focus of this was to build a calming outdoor sanctuary that is beautifully functional for both relaxation and entertaining. The design approach here was to maintain maximum sun exposure while giving maximum privacy. We started to incorporate a lush selection of native plants from wildflower and butterfly perennials to ornamental grasses that not only beautify the landscape but also support local flora and fauna. Important, durable and sustainable materials were key: we used locally-sourced stone for the pathways and a custom fire pit that anchors central to the space. The main difficulty, of course, was the unevenness of the terrain, we made it levelled and optimised, separating the relaxation area and dining area. We used natural stone for the tiered sections so retaining walls break up the landscape and make for a more interesting landscape to explore. We also incorporated a drip irrigation system for hardscaping sustainability and maintenance. The result is a charming abode that embodies the client's brief for a warm and inviting home. The new ‘Intimate Sunny Side Back Yard’ comes complete with comfy seating nooks, and is just the right location for morning coffee and evening get-togethers with family and friends, surrounded by greenery.
