Nestled in the scenic equestrian community of Geneseo, this project began with Jon and Bee, who sought to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing garage that reflected their family heritage. Upon discovering a barn linked to their ancestry that had been standing for over 150 years, the couple envisioned a new structure that not only paid homage to their roots but also utilized the barn's salvaged materials. The design choices for the Reclaimed Barn Garage were driven by a commitment to sustainability and authenticity. Utilizing the robust timber from the original barn, our team meticulously crafted a garage structure that is both durable and visually striking. The salvaged beams, each telling a story of their own, were incorporated into the framework, showcasing their rustic beauty while ensuring structural integrity. The craftsmanship extended beyond the framework; our fine woodworking group crafted garage doors that mimic traditional designs, echoing the aesthetics of a bygone era. The outcome is a stunning garage that seamlessly integrates into the landscape, exuding charm and character. The warm tones of the reclaimed wood are complemented by thoughtful architectural details, enhancing the farmhouse's overall appeal.
