2110 Mid Century Modern by PLAID Collaborative Located in a lively neighborhood, the PLAID Collaborative's '2110 Mid Century Modern' landscaping reflects contemporary design and mid-century brilliance. Service extending from Kansas City to Leawood, our team curated a charming outdoor space that replicated both the home’s geometric architecture and natural elements. Building on the sloped site, we ensured the layout was balanced in visual appeal and usability. The pattern featured quality bluestone in a geometric shape, achieving a seamless gathering spot. We sourced native drought-resilient plants and completely rebuilt the adjacent area so it would be simplified into a beautiful, inviting, and sustainable garden with minimal upkeep. While the lush plant selections were intentional to create authentic depth and visual character to the landscape, they simultaneously enhance the natural habitat of the biome. One of the most significant challenges the site presented was the slope of the site. Our team developed a design to replace pure topsoil with natural stone terrace beds. Stone retaining walls aligned with the mid-century aesthetics and not only limited erosion; they also created isolated sets of planting zones for spring blooms throughout the onset of winter. The addition of modern lighting put the finishing touches on the transformation, conveniently spotlighting the trees for evening ambiance as well as illuminating the patio area. We stand behind our craftsmanship from the tight stonework to the amazing plants we hand-selected to portray the architecture of the home. The overall look is a stunning outdoor environment that the client is proud to entertain in. We are happy to provide landscaping quality that inspires and beautifies home and environment.
