Native plants, like California lilac and coastal sage, are the aesthetic stars of the design; plants that can handle the local climate and support a biodiversity explosion. In addition to shade, we made sure that there were a variety of textures and colors for visual impact through thoughtful plantings as well as seasonal blooms. A winding natural stone path will take your guests through the garden, past tranquil water features that provides both calmness and gentle sound. The most significant of these was the slope of the site, which required us to build retaining walls to hold everything up, using boulders harvested nearby. Such walls not only provide stability to the terrain but are unique elements as they complement the natural surroundings. The drainage was thoughtful as was done by our experienced team to prevent from erosion and to keep the garden safe for many years. Additionally, we incorporated sustainability by using permeable pavers on the outdoor living areas so that rainwater can well through to the groundwater table. Solar lighting enhances the night landscape while saving energy. And these efforts culminated into an awe-inspiring outdoor space that the Smith family enjoyed. Now they are a combination of beauty and functionality, ready to host a party or kick back and relax in their own sanctuary.
