The Contemporary Backyard Retreat project showcases a remarkable transformation of the rear facade and attached deck of a home in Atlanta, GA. Our clients sought a design that harmoniously blends functionality with contemporary aesthetics, ensuring it serves both intimate family gatherings and larger social events. The outcome is a meticulously crafted outdoor living space that excels in versatility and style. At the heart of this retreat is the upper deck, which serves as the central hub for dining and entertainment. It features a custom cantilevered aluminum pergola that not only provides shade but also adds an architectural statement to the space. Adjacent to the pergola, a covered grill and prep area ensures that culinary endeavors can be enjoyed year-round, enhancing the outdoor cooking experience. The focal point of this upper deck is the stunning concrete fire table, paired with a floating wooden bench that invites relaxation and conversation around the warmth of the flames. As guests descend to the lower deck, they are greeted by the serene sound of cascading water from a custom concrete water feature. This feature, with its smooth finish and interior lined with Mexican beach pebbles, creates a visually captivating and tranquil environment. The upper basin's sleek spillover into the lower basin generates soothing sounds, promoting a Zen-like atmosphere throughout the entire deck. The selection of materials and craftsmanship reflects a commitment to quality and innovation, ensuring that every element not only meets aesthetic expectations but also withstands the test of time.
