Nestled in the charming Grosse Pointe neighborhood, the Lakeview Drive project represents a complete gut renovation of a historic home that has been thoughtfully reimagined for a modern family of four. The transformation began in 2018, when our clients, relocating from New York City, sought to create a unique living space that resonated with their east coast inspirations. Valia Design took on the challenge of redefining the existing layout, which involved a comprehensive overhaul of the original floor plan. By removing all internal walls and existing rooms, we reallocated space to better suit the family's lifestyle, resulting in a seamless flow throughout the home. The design process was particularly engaging, as we navigated the complexities of the deep gables and distinctive roof lines that characterize the architectural style of the house. Our approach focused not only on functionality but also on maintaining the home’s historic charm while introducing contemporary elements that reflect the clients’ personal taste. One of the standout features of this renovation is the daring paint palette that breathes new life into the home.
