The Elegant Kitchen, Bath & Bedroom project revitalized a charming 1950s home located in Jacksonville's historic Riverside area, transforming it into a modern haven while preserving its timeless character. The extensive remodel began with the kitchen, where the original space was completely gutted to create an inviting and functional layout. New flooring was installed, accompanied by elegant cabinetry and sleek countertops that seamlessly blend style and practicality. The focal point of the kitchen is the newly designed island, which was strategically placed to enhance workflow and accommodate family gatherings. The left wall was intentionally left clear of cabinets, refrigerator, or pantry closet, allowing for a spacious and airy feel that emphasizes the island's presence. In the master bedroom, an unusual design flaw was addressed by removing the existing closet that obstructed two large windows. This allowed for an abundance of natural light to filter into the space, creating a brighter and more inviting atmosphere. A custom-built closet was installed in a more functional location, maximizing both storage and aesthetic appeal. The master bath underwent a dramatic transformation as well; the cramped layout was reimagined to eliminate unnecessary walls, resulting in an open and luxurious space. The addition of a sleek stand-alone tub and a spacious walk-in shower turned the bathroom into a serene retreat. The family room also received a makeover to match the contemporary design of the rest of the home. The outdated fireplace hearth and surround tile were replaced with modern materials that complement the overall aesthetic. Additionally, the old swing door leading into the kitchen was replaced with an elegant arched opening, enhancing the flow between spaces and aligning with the architectural features found throughout the home. The project, completed in 2018 with a budget ranging from $75,001 to $100,000, showcases exceptional craftsmanship and thoughtful design choices that breathe new life into this historic residence while providing modern comforts.
