Hillsborough, NJ - Doerler Landscape & Hidden Springs Irrigation Doerler Landscape & Hidden Springs Irrigation undertook a in Hillsborough, New Jersey that combined usage with natural beauty. Dealing with a sloped site presented challenges in creating usable outdoor space while at the same time enhancing the overall aesthetics of the property. This consisted of stone retaining walls, made from a locally-sourced, natural stone, which gives structural integrity along with a beautiful and natural stone versus the green landscaping of the property background. We selected a diverse collection of native plants that would also provide colorful perennials for year-round interest and to support local biodiversity. Water management was an important consideration for us, and so an expert irrigation system was installed to ensure ample watering for the new plants. The irrigation system was efficient, utilizing drip lines for little to no watering waste and optimal plant health. Our skilled crew dealt with various challenges including uneven topography and existing tree roots, by installing tiered garden beds through advanced grading techniques to provide drainage and additional layers of interest to the property. The final design resulted in a stunning outdoor space. The new outdoor space used permeable pavers to create winding pathways toward a cozy fire pit area, resulting in a fun place to gather. The homeowners were delighted by the finished and very happy with the design and function that changed their yard into a living space.
