Kingsmill Renovation/Craftsman Design

The Kingsmill Remodel, inspired by Craftsman-style aesthetics, showcases a remarkable transformation following significant water damage in the homeowners' kitchen and adjacent areas. Located in the charming community of Williamsburg, VA, this project was a collaborative effort between the homeowners, Tom and Trudy, and our design team, focused on creating a warm, inviting space that reflected their vision while being mindful of their budget constraints due to the unexpected nature of the repairs. The design choices were rooted in the principles of Craftsman architecture, emphasizing natural materials and craftsmanship. We selected rich, earthy tones complemented by handcrafted cabinetry that exudes both elegance and functionality. The kitchen features a stunning combination of dark stained wood and light, airy accents, creating a harmonious balance that invites both family gatherings and entertaining guests. The layout was thoughtfully planned to enhance flow and accessibility, ensuring that the kitchen serves as the heart of the home. Incorporating high-quality materials was paramount in this remodel. We chose durable, yet aesthetically pleasing, countertops that withstand the rigors of daily use while adding a touch of sophistication. The backsplash, featuring classic subway tiles in a soft glaze, ties the entire kitchen together, reflecting light and enhancing the overall spaciousness. Custom lighting fixtures were carefully selected to accentuate the craftsmanship while providing adequate illumination throughout the space. Throughout the project, the close collaboration with Tom and Trudy was instrumental. Their openness to suggestions allowed for creative solutions that elevated the design while still prioritizing their preferences. The trust they placed in our team ensured that every detail was executed with precision and care.
