About This Project

The Conrad project is a remarkable transformation of a dark and disjointed 1990s residence into a bright and inviting home that embraces modern living. Located in Boulder, Colorado, this extensive renovation began with a clear vision to enhance functionality while preserving the solid structure of the house. The outdated floor plan was completely reimagined, resulting in a seamless open-concept layout that connects all social spaces, allowing for effortless interaction and flow. A key element of the design was the introduction of a charming Dutch front door, which, along with a newly created foyer and mudroom, provides guests with a warm sense of arrival. This thoughtful entryway features ample storage for jackets and shoes, elevating the overall functionality of the space. The kitchen, once the heart of the home but in dire need of an update, was meticulously rebuilt from the ground up. A fresh white and blue color palette was chosen to evoke a sense of calm and simplicity while incorporating modern appliances and fixtures for enhanced practicality. To further enhance natural light and connectivity to the outdoors, the south wall of the main floor was opened up with large windows and sliding doors. This design choice beautifully integrates indoor and outdoor living spaces, making the home ideal for entertaining and outdoor gatherings. The previously sagging wrap-around porch was also completely reconstructed, providing a charming and functional area for relaxation. The interior spaces were thoughtfully rearranged to include a dream playroom for children, equipped with organized storage solutions that allow for a peaceful coexistence between family members. Every detail, from the elegant staircase to the carefully selected finishes and fixtures throughout the home, reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and quality. The completed project stands as a testament to the collaboration between Rodwin Architecture and Skycastle Homes, resulting in a stunning residence that perfectly balances style, comfort, and functionality.
