About This Project

The Heckman Stairs project involved a comprehensive repair and reconstruction of a staircase severely damaged by Hurricane Florence. Initially, the staircase was covered in carpet, which not only detracted from the overall aesthetic but also concealed the underlying structural issues. Our team undertook the task of transforming this space into a stunning feature of the home by replacing the old carpet with elegant hardwood. The newly installed Oak treads provide a warm and inviting feel, while the painted Pine risers and skirt boards add a touch of sophistication and brightness to the overall design. Throughout the reconstruction process, great care was taken to ensure that every detail aligned with the client’s vision and the existing decor of the home. The decision to use Oak for the treads not only enhances durability but also complements the natural beauty of the hardwood flooring installed downstairs. The selection of painted risers and skirt boards was deliberate, aimed at contrasting with the richness of the Oak while maintaining a cohesive look throughout the home. In addition to the treads and risers, we installed a new set of painted balusters and stained newel posts, paired with beautifully crafted handrails. The stained finish on the newel posts creates an appealing visual harmony with the downstairs hardwood, bridging the two spaces seamlessly. Our skilled craftsmanship shines through in the meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that each component works together to create a unified design.
