The Sunroom project, situated in St. Petersburg, FL, showcases a remarkable transformation of a vintage sunroom originally built in 1942. This oval space, characterized by its jalousie windows and red concrete floors, had long awaited rejuvenation until it was embraced by its current owner, who inherited a treasure trove of family antiques and vintage collectibles. The vision for the sunroom was to create a fresh, inviting atmosphere that seamlessly blends contemporary elements with cherished family pieces. To initiate the transformation, the walls were painted in Sherwin-Williams’ Snowbound (SW 7004), a soft, crisp white that enhances the natural light flooding through the windows. The floors were revitalized with Agreeable Gray (SW 7029), adding a subtle, warm tone that complements the overall aesthetic. The choice of blue accent color was thoughtfully inspired by the owner’s grandmother’s antique blue velvet chair, ensuring a personal touch that resonates throughout the space. New furnishings were carefully selected to harmonize with the existing antiques, including a comfortable sofa, a stylish area rug, an elegant bookcase, a chic chandelier, and a media chest.
