The remodel of Apartment B8 in Graz, Styria, represents a remarkable transformation that enhances both functionality and aesthetics in the kitchen and bathroom. The project involved a large-scale redesign, beginning with the complete gutting of the existing kitchen and the removal of the wall to the storeroom, which significantly expanded the available space. The client envisioned a central kitchen element that serves as a vibrant gathering spot for family and friends. This vision was expertly executed with a simple kitchenette and a wall unit designed to maximize storage, ensuring that all culinary essentials are within easy reach. The two-sided access to the kitchen streamlines the flow of movement, facilitating quick storage of groceries and easy access to the dining table in the adjacent open-plan living area. The design palette features white cabinetry that harmonizes beautifully with warm wooden elements and patterned ceramic tile flooring, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Vintage-style suspended lamps add a touch of charm, enhancing the overall ambiance. The bathroom underwent a significant upgrade, with the previous bathtub replaced by a spacious shower facility, promoting a modern, spa-like experience. A classic oak vanity unit not only offers ample storage for essentials but also accommodates a washing machine and dryer discreetly. The opposite wall construction provides additional space for personal items and technical units, including a hot water tank, while an expansive mirror enhances the sense of space, transforming the compact bathroom into a luxurious retreat. Throughout the two-floor open-plan design, a cohesive color scheme of whites and delicate grays was meticulously coordinated to evoke a sense of serenity. The existing wooden staircase received a thoughtful color adaptation, while minimalist features such as a fireplace in a concrete finish infuse the space with contemporary elegance without sacrificing warmth. The outcome is a beautifully remodeled apartment that seamlessly blends modern functionality with inviting comfort, making it an ideal home for its occupants.
