In the heart of Alexandria, VA, the Basement Bath in Linden Gardens Masonry Townhouse project transformed an underutilized half bath into a modern, functional space that now includes a stylish shower. The design challenge was significant, given the low ceiling of the basement and the need to add a shower without compromising existing storage. Our skilled team, led by Vladimir Dafkov from Beverly Thomas LLC, approached this project with creativity and precision. To maximize space, the half bath was expanded into an adjacent closet, allowing for the seamless integration of a shower. A key feature of this renovation is the recessed shower head, which was thoughtfully framed and tiled into the ceiling, providing both height and aesthetic appeal in a compact area. This design choice not only enhanced the overall functionality but also contributed to the contemporary feel of the bathroom. The craftsmanship displayed throughout the project is noteworthy, with tile setting expertly handled by Andreas Vicente, who ensured a waterproof environment under the careful oversight of Ben Granados. The addition of under-tile heating, expertly installed by Nick Turnbull, provides comfort and warmth, making the bathroom a welcoming retreat year-round. The custom-built shelving by Mr. P, with assistance from Nick Turnbull and Andrew Harry, preserves valuable storage space while maintaining a sleek design, further enhancing the room's functionality. The electrical work was completed by B&M Electric, ensuring that all lighting fixtures align with the contemporary aesthetic while providing adequate illumination. The outcome is a beautifully finished bathroom that marries modern design with practical use, perfectly suited for the needs of today's homeowners. This renovation not only adds value to the property but also exemplifies how thoughtful design can transform an everyday space into a luxurious sanctuary.
