Our newest , 'Walkways & Garden Paths,' is an example of what we can do by building beautiful walkways from relatively common materials (brick and concrete) or hybrid versions of different materials that suit our clients' needs in places such as Amf Ohare, Bannockburn, Chicago, and nearby areas. This consisted of designing and building a series of winding walkways that link features of the garden while allowing access throughout the property. The first task was to identify how we could develop paths that fit the existing landscape, including following natural contours of the land and existing vegetation. We identified that this could be accomplished using carefully selected materials, primarily providing a durable surface (pavers stacked & stamped concrete), while giving these walkways charm and real urban beauty. Both hardscape styles were built in variations widths, with subtle waves and angles, shifting visitors' focus from one area of the garden to another while being tucked among beautiful colors in flower beds. A combo style was also included in each path design, incorporating alternating layouts of brick and concrete, to blend the aesthetic appeal of bricks with the strength of concrete. As always, our focus on quality craftsmanship was clearly presented in every detail, from the leveling of each stone, to any finishing touches creating a more polished appearance. The final result is a beautiful network of winding walkways for clients to enjoy exploring as they tour their garden, but also a beautiful network of walkways that ties architecture and landscape together. The clients were thrilled with the finished product, stating how the new walkways served as a focal point for family gatherings and a helpful way to leisurely retreat to an area of separation and rest.
