About This Project

The Kitchen on the Water project was a transformative endeavor that addressed both functionality and aesthetic appeal for our client. Tasked with expanding a laundry room that was discreetly tucked away behind kitchen doors, the project evolved into a full kitchen renovation. As the design progressed, it became clear that replacing the existing cabinets would elevate the overall look and feel of the space. The choice of natural alder cabinet doors with a sophisticated black glaze not only enhanced the kitchen's elegance but also complemented the warm, inviting atmosphere that our client envisioned. Given the vaulted ceiling adorned with beautiful wood planks, we were keen to maintain its character while maximizing the kitchen's layout. Our innovative solution involved bumping out the laundry room by up to 8 feet, creating an inviting nook that serves as a perfect ledge for the client’s collection of decorative lighthouses. This clever extension not only increased usable space but also added a unique focal point that reflects the client’s personality and love for coastal dec. Throughout the project, meticulous craftsmanship was a priority. Every element was carefully selected and executed to ensure durability and style, from the cabinet installation to the finishing touches that brought the entire room together. The harmonious blend of the natural wood tones with the striking black glaze created a stunning contrast that radiates warmth and sophistication. The final outcome transformed the kitchen into a welcoming heart of the home, ideal for both daily living and entertaining. The project, completed in 2019 within a budget range of $50,001 to $75,000, has not only met but exceeded our client’s expectations, resulting in a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The Kitchen on the Water stands as a testament to thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship, ready to inspire future projects.
