The Walnut Accents project, initiated in 2018, transformed a newly purchased midcentury home into a space that reflects both modern elegance and timeless charm. The homeowners approached us with a comprehensive list of repairs needed before they could settle in, allowing us the unique opportunity to enhance the existing features while addressing functional needs. The scope of the project included a variety of repairs throughout the home, but the standout element was undoubtedly the addition of Black Walnut accents. Replacing the outdated painted plywood panels in numerous built-ins, the rich and warm tones of Black Walnut brought a sophisticated touch to the interior, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the space. Each panel was meticulously crafted and installed to ensure a seamless integration with the existing architecture, showcasing the skillful craftsmanship that defined this project. The choice of Black Walnut not only elevated the visual impact but also provided a durable and lasting material that would withstand the test of time. In addition to the enhancements made to the built-ins, we addressed the outdated bathroom features by removing a cumbersome custom shower do. In its place, we installed a striking glass block wall, which served to partially enclose the shower area while allowing natural light to filter through. This design choice not only modernized the bathroom but also created a sense of openness and tranquility, transforming it into a serene retreat within the home. The result of the Walnut Accents project is a beautifully harmonized living space that marries functionality with style. The combination of thoughtful repairs, high-quality materials, and innovative design solutions has produced a home that the owners are proud to call their own. With a cost range of $7,501 to $10,000, this project exemplifies how strategic enhancements can significantly elevate a property while preserving its original character.
