About This Project

The Richland Ave. Master Bath project involved a comprehensive remodel of two bathrooms in a charming 1920 Foursquare home located in Nashville, TN. The homeowners sought to transform their cramped master bath, which was so limited in space that the wife humorously noted she had to “stand on the toilet to brush her teeth.” Their vision was to create a fresh and modern aesthetic while preserving the historic character that defines their beloved home. To achieve this, our design team proposed a strategic solution that involved removing interior walls to incorporate an adjacent bedroom into the master bath, effectively tripling its size. This significant expansion not only enhanced the overall functionality of the space but also allowed for the addition of a spacious closet, addressing the homeowners' need for increased storage. The new master bath now features a stunning double vanity topped with sleek quartz, providing a contemporary touch that complements the traditional architecture. Custom doors and casings were crafted to match the home’s original features, ensuring a seamless integration of the new design with the existing structure. A private water closet was also incorporated, adding to the bath's overall privacy and convenience. In addition to the master bath, we revitalized the guest bath, which now showcases a classic vintage black-and-white hex tile floor that pays homage to the home’s historic roots. Thoughtfully designed tile mosaics adorn the shower walls in both baths, serving as artistic focal points that elevate the overall aesthetic and functionality of the spaces. The result is a harmonious blend of modern convenience and timeless elegance, perfectly reflecting the homeowners' desires while enhancing the character of their historic residence. The Richland Ave. Master Bath stands as a testament to skilled craftsmanship and thoughtful design, creating a welcoming retreat that is both beautiful and practical.
