Surreal Serenity: Lake Winnipesaukee Completions: Stephens Landscaping Professionals, LLC Located along the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee shoreline, the Surreal Serenity by Stephens Landscaping Professionals, LLC exemplifies the integration of true natural beauty with local craftsmanship. Serving properties along the Center Harbor to Wolfeboro area, we began the process of restarting and redesigning the outdoor space surrounding a sloped lakeside property into a natural outdoor setting. To complete this , we organized a site visitation to discuss the landscape layout utilizing native plants with a natural approach to orchards using locally-sourced granite boulders. Walkways made from natural stone connected the home’s entryways to the water’s edge, creating a movement from the front and to the backyards, before providing more intimate spaces for the client to enjoy and entertain guests. When developing the landscape elements, we utilized a diverse plant palette, using perennials and shrub varieties that would provide color year-round while enticing vital native wildlife to the landscape. The slopes provided a challenge initially, and after reviewing the , we decided to add gardens that were terraced into the hillside. Each terraced garden added visual interest to the overall design, as well as stability to the slope itself. Every terrace incorporated a variety of plantings that would provide colorful blooms during the growing season while maintaining year round views up the hillside. As a design feature, we utilized a stone fire pit with natural stone seating, which provided a perfect space for the client to share evenings with family and friends around the fire and under the stars. The irrigation design was an even more difficult challenge, while ensuring we were using responsible amounts of water. It also provided beautiful summer blooming plants without requiring excessive amounts of water from the city. The end result? A stunning, serene landscape that offers many visual layers that are just as elegant as tranquil, and the client is thrilled to use their outdoor renovation in summer evenings!
