The Coral Gables Art Deco Home project involved the meticulous renovation of a historic 1930s residence, a five-bedroom, three-bath golf course home complete with a charming guest house. Our goal was to restore the property to its original architectural vision, paying homage to the Art Deco style that defines the Coral Gables area. The project commenced in 2008 and posed numerous challenges, particularly with city regulations regarding historic homes. Despite these hurdles, the outcome was a stunning revitalization that exceeded client expectations. Central to the renovation was the thoughtful selection of materials that complemented the home’s original aesthetic. We focused on preserving the unique characteristics of the Art Deco style, incorporating elements such as geometric patterns and bold color schemes. The interior spaces were reimagined with attention to detail, ensuring that each room reflected the elegance and sophistication of the era. Notable features included the installation of large, hurricane-compliant windows that not only enhanced natural light but also offered panoramic views of the lush golf course surroundings. The aluminum balcony, designed to be both functional and visually appealing, was another highlight of the renovation.
