Lighting Design Overhaul

The Lighting Design Revamp project undertaken in Louisville, KY, transformed three distinct spaces within our clients’ home: the living room, dining room, and library. Each room posed unique challenges in achieving optimal illumination while enhancing the ambiance and showcasing the clients' art collection. Our approach was to evaluate the existing lighting conditions and make strategic design choices that would elevate the overall aesthetic and functionality of each space. In the living room, we discovered that the existing recessed lighting was not only incorrectly sized but also poorly positioned, resulting in inadequate coverage and an uninviting atmosphere. Additionally, the clients owned a stunning piece of art with a curved and linear form, finished with a glossy surface that created glare issues under direct light. To address these concerns, we replaced the downlights with appropriately sized fixtures and repositioned them to maximize illumination without compromising the integrity of the artwork. Complementary accent lighting was added to enhance the art's visual appeal, creating a warm and inviting environment perfect for entertaining guests. The dining room featured built-in cabinets that required careful consideration for the lighting design. We selected fixtures that harmonized with the cabinetry while providing sufficient illumination for dining activities and highlighting decorative items within the cabinets. The chosen materials and finishes complemented the overall design aesthetic, ensuring a cohesive look throughout the home. In the library, we focused on creating a cozy reading environment with layered lighting. We integrated adjustable fixtures that allowed the clients to customize brightness levels, ensuring comfort during different activities. The craftsmanship of the installations was meticulously executed, aligning with the clients’ vision for a refined yet functional space. The outcome of the Lighting Design Revamp was a harmonious blend of style and practicality, enabling our clients to enjoy their living spaces more fully while effectively showcasing their cherished art collection. The project, completed within a budget range of $7,501 to $10,000, stands as a testament to the transformative power of thoughtful lighting design.
