Alaska's Best Kitchens - First Place Kitchen stands as a testament to innovative design and thoughtful craftsmanship. Under the expert guidance of designer Fernanda Conrad from K&W Interiors, this kitchen transformation epitomizes a modern yet inviting atmosphere. The choice of Merillat Tolani Cotton white cabinets, extending gracefully to the ceiling, not only optimizes space but also creates an illusion of height, making the kitchen feel expansive and airy. Complementing these cabinets, stainless steel open shelves provide both functional storage and an elegant touch, enhancing the overall decor with their sleek lines. The backsplash features a classic white gloss subway tile, delivering a timeless aesthetic that aligns perfectly with our client's vision for a clean and cohesive look. To add visual interest and warmth, the countertops are a delightful mix of Formica laminate and unfinished butcher block, bringing texture and character to the space. The previous flooring, a combination of old carpet and vinyl, was replaced with stunning engineered, hand-scraped hickory flooring that flows seamlessly throughout the entire first floor, adding richness and durability. Understanding the client's need for family gatherings, a custom-built table was crafted from maple finished butcher block, supported by chunky legs painted in a vibrant Cayenne hue. This design choice not only serves the practical purpose of accommodating a large extended family but also infuses a pop of color into the kitchen, making it a focal point of the room. Modifications to the sliding doors, combined with carefully selected appliances and lighting fixtures, transformed this kitchen into a bright, welcoming environment. The end result is a modern, functional kitchen that has become the heart of the home, perfectly balancing style and practicality while catering to the lifestyle of a bustling family.
